Get to Know Alyson
Alyson is a highly skilled speech-language pathologist with a passion for working with Autistic students. She specializes in articulation, feeding and orofacial myofunctional disorders. In her role as a Speech Therapy Advisor, she enjoys assisting districts with better understanding the role of an SLP, and ways to improve processes and retain staff. She loves mentoring education professionals on ways to build positive rapport among teams and students, how to increase engagement of students in the school setting and using strengths-based thinking.
Alyson brings 18 years of experience as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist working in public schools, specialized school programs, and private practices. Prior to joining the BlazerWorks team, she worked for 11 years at a private practice in Virginia as the Clinical Director overseeing service delivery of occupational and speech-language pathology therapy, as well as staff and program development.
Alyson earned her Master of Arts Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. Alyson is also a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Virginia and an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Special Interest Groups for Language, Learning, and Education; Administration and Supervision, Feeding and Swallowing, as well as School-Based Issues.
